Welcome! 👋 I’m Daisy
I’m a proud Muruwari woman, contemporary Aboriginal Artist, wife and mother of two.
I live and create on Yugambeh Country ~ where the land, sea and sky constantly inspire me. My paintings are more than artwork — they are spiritual expressions of connection, identity and love. Through every mark I make, I honour my culture, my family, and the stories that shape who I am.
My art is a celebration of family, identity, and Country ~ while gently holding space for others to find meaning in their own stories.
Through every mark I make ~ whether with stick, brush, or hand ~ I weave together past and present, offering artworks that are rich in emotion and purpose.
“Through my paintings I honour my journey, my culture, and the deep connections that shape me. It’s my way of staying grounded ~ to Country, to spirit, and to the stories that live within me.”
An Intuitive Practice, A Spiritual Process
Entirely self-taught, my creative process is deeply intuitive. I paint freehand, often spending over 50 hours on a single piece. I draw inspiration from Country — the trees, the water, the sun, the sand — and from life’s quiet moments of reflection and gratitude.
Every commissioned artwork includes:
🐚 A unique story card with the meaning behind the piece
✨ A card used during the dotting process
🌞 A hand-painted Leopard Tree seed pod ~ a keepsake of Country
Every Limited Edition Print includes:
✍🏻 A signed Certificate of Authenticity sharing the artwork meaning
🖼️ A hand crafted Tasmanian Oak timber frame
My work is always created in limited numbers: just 25 prints per design exist in the world.
Originals are one-of-a-kind and always made with soul.
When I create commissioned works, I take the time to understand your story, your space, and what matters most to you — so the piece we create together is entirely your own.

Grounded in Culture. Guided by Respect & Integrity
My work celebrates my heritage and stories that are mine to tell.
I incorporate Aboriginal language symbols and personal interpretations in a way that’s honest and culturally safe. I do not paint Dreaming stories that I am not a Custodian of. I paint what is mine ~ lived experience, emotion, and the unbreakable connection I feel to my people, my spirit, and this sacred land.
“Through my paintings, I connect with my roots, share meaningful stories, and celebrate the power of art to unite and uplift."
My Ancestors Walk With Me
My connection to storytelling and Country runs deep — not just through my spirit, but through the generations that came before me. One of the most remarkable people in my family’s story is my great-grandfather, William “Deucem” Smith — a proud Muruwari man and one of the greatest shearers of his time.
Known as the “Best Shearer in the Land,” he was inducted into the Australian Shearers’ Hall of Fame for his extraordinary skill, strength and work ethic. At his peak, Deucem could shear up to 290 sheep in a single day, and 1,430 in a week — incredible achievements, especially at a time when the contributions of Aboriginal men were so often overlooked.
He was born in 1896 on Muruwari Country in Tinnunburra, New South Wales, and travelled far and wide shearing sheep, providing for his large family and building a reputation not just for his speed, but for the care and precision in his work. His story is one of quiet excellence, cultural pride, and strength passed down through generations. Though his name doesn’t appear in many history books, it lives on through us — his descendants — through memory, resilience and deep connection to land and community.
My father, also Aboriginal, was a creative soul — artistic and expressive. I see my own creative path as something passed down through his line. My journey with identity has been layered and personal, but my art has become my grounding force. It’s where I feel most connected — to my family, to Country, and to the quiet strength of those who walked before me.

A Note From The Artist
“When buying from an artist, you’re buying more than just a painting. You are buying hundreds of hours of failures and experimentation. You are buying days, weeks and months of frustration as well as moments of pure joy. You are not just buying an object; you are buying a piece of an artist’s heart, soul and a moment in their life. Most importantly, you’re buying the artist more time to do something they are passionate about.” – unknown
